Eerstesteen is located within the Blaauwberg Conservation Area, about 20 km out of Cape Town. The well-maintained Blaauwberg Conservation Area parking areas are found all the way along the coast enabling visitors to enjoy various activities in a beautiful setting. These activities include angling (which requires a permit), surfing, kite boarding, dog walking (only on a leash), picnicking and braaing/BBQs at Eerstesteen. Gas and portable braais/BBQs are allowed. No dogs are allowed at the braai/BBQ area.
