Highgate Ostrich Show Farm is the World’s First, Oldest, and Finest Ostrich Show Farm Established in 1938!

Our Farm Tours surprise, inform, and delight visitors from all over the world and our showroom offers a stunning array of hand-crafted ostrich leather products made by our talented local artists. They are one of the most popular outdoor activities in Oudtshoorn for all ages. Meet ostriches face to face and learn more about ostrich farming! Their expert guides offer an engaging interactive learning experience for young and old and guests are welcome to feed the ostriches.

The Pepper Tree restaurant serves up farm fresh food and drink. The restaurant serves up farm fresh cuisine that tantalises the taste buds. With an all-year-round sunny climate, the tables are set up under the ancient Peruvian Pepper Tree where guests can enjoy an ostrich steak and variety of handcrafted beer and old and don’t forget about the donkey cart rides!

The world- class showroom offers a stunning array of hand-crafted curios and ostrich products all made by our talented local artists. Ostrich rides and racing are daily activities on the farm.

Fee/s :  Traditional Ostrich Tour: ZAR235.00 per Adults and ZAR155.00 for Children 6-12 yrs. All rates are quoted p/p and include VAT and coffee/tea on arrival. (Jun-2025).
