Do not mistake this park for the main Namaqua National Park, which is a bit inland from this coastal park.
Situated 29km from the Groenrivier gate. There are two spacious campsites with one Enviro loo, no ablutions and no electricity. Campers should be self-sufficient in terms of food, water and wood before entering the park.
The Groenrivier office is the SanParks office for the southern section of Namaqua National Park (Namaqua Coast National Park). Apart from a spot close to this office, there is no cell signal in the park.
Wood, ice and drinking water are for sale at the office.
It may be better to phone the park directly for accommodation. Or alternatively, use the email contact details we provide. You will have to register on SANParks website, and then make online reservations and pay in minutes. A Wild Card will get you free entry if you have one, but you would still need to pay camping fees. Two vehicles are allowed per site, extra vehicles will be charged extra.
Reservations are mandatory.
Park rangers come around daily to collect garbage. If you are in dire need you can ask them to fill up your water can with water (non-potable) when they pass the water tanks at Delwers Camp.

INFO:
For more info on travelling in the park, contact Sandy at coast.of.diamonds@gmail.com.
ROADS INFO:
The areas on the Tracks4africa maps that show roads as sandy are indeed VERY sandy. If you don't deflate your tyres you may get stuck.
Sanparks has put up signposts and recommendations about tyre pressure at these sandy patches now. A 4x4 is required for very sandy areas, but there are alternative gravel roads as by-passes. A 4x2 will do as long as the sandy areas are avoided. Do not attempt the coastal area with a sedan car, as the tracks are just a little too corrugated for a small vehicle. (Jan-2015).
WEATHER:
Beware of weather extremes hereā¦.south easters blow, and there has been reports of a north-westerly storm during December 2011 with night time temperatures of less than 5 degrees. A week later it was sunshine, warm and basically no wind.
Bring your own water for drinking, cooking, washing etc.
