Reportedly, this is no longer a toll road, but considered a private road, which used to allow vehicles under 8 Ton GW, once they have registered at the control point.

Since September 2014 this road has been closed to all public vehicles.

The gravel road from Lamberts Bay to Doring Bay is in reasonably good condition. Speed limit 80km/h.
