Elands Bay is a small town on the West Coast of South Africa 200 km north of Cape Town In the Bobbejaan Mountains above Elands Bay. There are numerous Bushman paintings and caves in the vicinity of the town have produced valuable archaeological findings. The Verlorenvlei flows into the Atlantic Ocean at Elands Bay and is a haven for about 230 bird species. It is known for its seafood as well as its natural wonders such as Verlorenvlei (a marsh) which lies between Elandsbaai and Redelinghuys with best West Coast lobster. You can either buy them from the fishermen or catch them yourself, if you have a permit. The magnificent waves, make the Bay a surfers paradise.
