Aurora is a small village and town situated 50km from Velddrif and 185km from Cape Town CBD along Route 27, right in the middle of Sandveld. Aurora means 'daybreak.' Attraction in the town includes McClear base where all the survey base of South Africa is situated, historical churches and mountains which are of major significance in Western Cape province.
