Albertinia is situated just off the N2 between Riversdale and Mossel Bay on the Garden Route. It is most famous for its abundance of aloes growing in the area. It is a small friendly town with agriculture being the most important contributor to the local economy. Albertinia is home to one of the only few remaining sand golf-courses in South Africa. The town enjoys long hot summers from September to April and mild, rainy winters from May to August.

Take the N2 coastal route from Cape Town - about 328km. Alternatively via N1 from Cape Town to Worcester, then R60 direction Ashton, before turning off to Swellendam, from where you take the N2 to Albertinia -about 422km.

BANKING:
Standard Bank ATM located at the Shell Service Station, an ABSA Bank in town, as well as an FNB. (Feb 2015).
FUEL:
Albertinia has 2 filling stations (Shell and Engen) right on the N2 as you enter the town as well as one further inland (Total Fuel Stop). (Feb 2015).
The Shell Service Station is the only 24 hour operation in Albertinia and boasts a restaurant and convenience store. Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. (Feb 2015).
HEALTHCARE:
There is no hospital. The closest hospital would be in Mosselbay. There is also no pharmacy here, although the Shell Fuel Station does offer a pharmaceutical vending machine for over the counter medical supplies. (Feb 2015).
