Falls within the West coast, Western Cape Province, situated between the Berg River mouth in the north and the West Coast National Park (Langebaan) in the south. The town is well known for its abundant sea life & scenic beauty and is the largest natural bay in South Africa. The town economy is therefore dependent on fishing, sea food and harbour trading. The harbour provides the ore loading point at end of the Sishen-Saldanha iron-ore project.
