Goodwood was established in 1905 and named after Goodwood Racecourse in England. The founders intended to make it a racing centre and a course was constructed, but abandoned after only one meeting. Goodwood includes Tygerdal, Vrizjee, Goodwood Park, Goodwood West and Glenwood.
