Bunya is a small town, previously a mission station, consisting of mostly very poor people, many battling the HIV/AIDS virus. The Bunya Clinic is managed by the Missionary Benedictine Sisters, and they also operate catechesis, schools and a kindergarten, in the place of German sisters who previously served here.
