Ongongo means 'magical' in Herero, situated 6km from Warmquelle. There is a permanent water spring coming out of the mountain, warm enough for swimming all year round.
Luxury campsites are provided with private ablutions, although please take note that there are no electrical points at the campsites. There are lights (12 volt solar powered) though.
A maximum of 8 people and 2 vehicles per campsite is allowed, unless otherwise authorized by management. No loud music allowed, and no music allowed after dark.
We are not selling ice at the campsite but it can be arranged because we have Sesfontein Guesthouse just a few kilometres from the campsite and there is a fridge/freezer at reception and we should be able to make limited amounts of ice.
Campsite Rules: Please respect your neighbours at all times. No loud music allowed at all. No music allowed after dark unless you are the only ones there. Sound carries far in the wild. Please be considerate and keep noise levels reasonable at night as well as in the mornings. Please do not dump all your rubbish with us. There is no official dumpsite close by and we would like to keep the impact on the immediate environment to a minimum. Please take your rubbish to the next town if possible.

ACCESS:
A 2X4 vehicle can access the camp, until the parking area. To go down into the gorge one would require a 4WD.
CELL SIGNAL:
Cell phone reception is poor at the moment. There are two spots where the signal is very strong, but it is a short walk/climb from the campsites. We are however looking at putting a booster antenna up. That should happen within a month or so. (Aug-17).
FUEL:
The nearest fuel station is in Sesfontein, otherwise in Palmwag.
