The Kasai Channel is about 12 kilometres long flowing through Namibia and connecting the Chobe River to the Zambezi. There are many crocodiles and hippos in the river, and the area is a bird viewing paradise. Also popular for Tigerfish fishing, and many lodges situated on the banks of the channel offer boat trips for site seeing or for fishing. The local people can often be seen fishing with nets or going down river with their mokoro's. Small farms providing food for the locals can also be found on the banks of the river. In order to go from the Botswana side of the Chobe River down the Kasia Channel, you have to go through the Botswana border control and the Namibian border control at Impalila.
