Lilongwe is the Capital City of Malawi which has a certain serenity and orderliness. Located in the central region of the country, it is a fast growing city although it has just been the nation's capital since 1975 after Zomba. It attracts people working for international and non-governmental organizations as well as government employees. As a result the city is more cosmopolitan than any other in the country. There are no traffic jams, little crime, decent restaurants, shopping and easy access to natural attractions of the central region. It is the only city that has a wildlife reserve within the city in the country.
