Booking

Balaka is the first big town if you drive on the M8 from Liwonde to Dedza in the direction of Lilongwe. Although it is just a drive-through town for self-drive overlanders, it offers a lot of facilities. Due to the train station and bus stop for the national bus service the town will be of bigger importance to backpackers.
