Situated within the Mashonaland central province in Zimbabwe, Bindura have grown rapidly in population and have also been termed the capital for the Mashonaland central. The city is well known as a mining town of Nickel, Copper and Cobalt mines and smelter company as well. Bindura was formerly called Kimberly Reefs before it changed its name in 1913 to Bindura when the railway arrived. In this city there is the Bindura university of Science Education, one of the few science and technology universities in the country. There is also an SOS children's village with family houses approximately 180 persons. Bindura co not have a Publicity Association/Tourist centre as yet but for more information or enquiries visitors can contact the Bindura Municipality Offices.
