Pomongwe Caves is situated near near Maleme Dam in Matobo National Park, Zimbabwe. This is the largest cave in the Matobos NP and at the site of the museum, however the paintings in side the caves were damaged during a preservation attempt in 1965, where linseed oil was applied to the paintings. Nswatugi Cave which is further west has much better example of well preserved paintings. The museum and cave requires the payment of a access fee.
