The border post for Botswana, crossing over from South Africa en route to Lobatse, Botswana.

For South Africans coming to Botswana a valid passport book and vehicle papers for your car are needed.

Any goods acquired outside the country must be declared at the border gate. You are not allowed to cross the border with fruits and vegetables. Credit/debit card payments are accepted as well.

For any clarifications on this matter please contact the Customs office. They are open till midnight.

Road safety fee is valid for a full calendar year, 3rd party Insurance is for small vehicles (Buses & mini buses pay more). TIP form to be completed at the border for all vehicles registered in Namibia Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Namibia and Mozambique. (Jun-2020).

FOOD:
You are not allowed to cross the border with meat, dairy products, fruits and vegetables. (Jun-2020).

TRAVELING WITH A MINOR:
Advice on travelling with minors, you will need a valid passport, valid visa if required, an Unabridged Birth Certificate with both parents’ names on and an affidavit from the other parent or both should the minor be travelling with one parent or with other family. The affidavit should not be older than 3 months.
