Qumbu is small town in a rural setting situated within the Mhlontlo local Municipality which also incorporates all the rural towns around. Qumbu and Tsolo are the main trading and urban centres in the local municipality. On a wider scale the town also falls under the O. R Tambo District Municipality, Eastern Cape province of South Africa. There is a Post office in town. The town economic sector is depended on agriculture, fishing, forestry, wholesale and retail trading. More information about this urban centre can be obtained from the municipal office in Qumbu.
