Tweespruit is an Afrikaans which means "two creeks." This name refers to the town’s location at the confluence of two small rivers. The town is a small dairy farming community which falls under the Mantsopa Local Municipality within the Free State province of South Africa. The town centre consists of one main road where all major services and facilities for the town are clustered with a bank, some general dealers, take aways and fuel stop lined up with trees along the road. It is typical rural setting environment. Just strolling from one end of the main road to the another, one would come across every necessity that could be made available in this town. There is no tourism office in the town, visitors can contact the Mantsopa Local Municipality offices. (Aug-15)
