The town is a clean and quiet residential resort, it has become a great place for people trying to get away from city life. About 10 years ago, the area consisted of a lot of greenery and wildlife, it changed due to the growing popularity of this small resort. On the opposite bank of the Mzimkulu River you can find Port Shepstone.
