Colenso also referred to in Zulu as eSkipeni "Place of the Boat" is a town in KwaZulu-Natal. It is situated on the southern bank of the Tugela River. It was originally limited within a loop in the river but expanded. It lies on the main railway line between Durban and Johannesburg. It is also know for the Battle of Colenso during the Anglo-Boer War.
