“Keiskammahoek is a small village on the Keiskamma River, 40 km N/W of King William’s Town in the Eastern Province. It started as a frontier post and became a village in about 1853. It is named after the Keiskamma River on which it lies. The Xhosa name for Keiskamma River is Gxulu River.” - Chris Smit, 2024/08/18
