Venterstad is part of Gariep region and the town is within the Joe Gqabi District Municipality of the Eastern cape Province of South Africa. It was named after Johannes J. T. Venter who was the owner of the land on which it was established. Farming is a core livelihood in this community with cattle rearing an important sector as well. There are historical church building around town, a reminder of the town development since 1864. Though still legging in basic infrastructure development, the peaceful and tranquil environment will ensure an unforgettable stay.
