Bhisho was formerly known as Bisho is located in the Eastern Cape Province in South Africa and is the capital of Eastern Cape. It is home to many headquarters of the Provincial legislature and many other government departments. The name Bhisho is the Xhosa word for buffalo, it is also the river's name that runs through the town. It forms part of the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality.
