This is the border between South Africa and Mozambique. This point is on the South African side, near Kosi Bay. The border is approximately 630km from Jo’burg and 460km from Durban and is open 7 days a week and borders the Ponta do Ouro border post in Mozambique.

A paved carriageway with narrow shoulders. A 4WD is required to reach Ponta do Ouro, Ponta Malongane, Ponta Mamoli and Santa Maria from this border.

Note that during peak seasons the border may stay open a bit later, but you will need to confirm that with the border.

IMPORTANT:
Arrive early during the holiday period as there is usually a large line of cars waiting to get through the border, take this in account when timing your travel to your destination.

You are strongly advised to fill up with fuel, visit the restroom and gather any supplies needed at Manguzi on the South African side (en-route to the Kosi Bay border) before entering Mozambique. (Jun-2020).
