King Dingane/King Dingaan was the chief of the Zulu's who later became king of the Zulu kingdom in 1828. Dingane came to power in 1828 after assassinating his half-brother Shaka. He was later defeated by his other half brother, Mpande and a force of 400 Boers in 1840. He was then forced to flee to the Gwaliweni (Hlatikulu) forest in the Lebombo mountains, where he was murdered by a group of Swazi and Nyawo warriors. His grave site is situated not far from where he was killed. The site is not very easy to find. Arrangements with ranger of the Hlatikulu Forest Reserve is recommended. (Dec-15)
