Areena Riverside Resort Campsite

Situated only 23 km east of the East London city center, Areena Riverside Resort has become a sought after holiday and corporate destination. Nestled on the banks of the Kwelera tidal river, is the Eastern Cape's best-kept secret. Areena offers everything from well-grassed camping sites, self-catering accommodation, adventure village, and private game reserve. Campsites are grassed and the same are shaded by our trees and campers can pitch their tents or park their caravans. Clean tap water, electricity and a braai area with a grid will make the stay much more comfortable. Communal ablutions and laundry facilities are on site. The Adventure Village offers various activities such as quad bike safaris through the game reserve, canoe hire, 10 line zip line to mention a few. Our onsite restaurant, Areena Quays Restaurant, on the banks of the river offers great family dining.

From East London N2 • N2 from East London to Umtata. • take off-ramp no. 1060 "Brakfontein", "Wild Coast" “showgrounds” • at the top of the off-ramp turn right onto “R102.” • travel for +- 1km, turn left onto “Schafli Road” “Jikeleza Route T1 (East Coast Resorts road) 9.6 km to Areena • travel for +- 10 minutes [landmark - pass Crossways Spar and Shopping Complex, East Coast meats on your right, halfway to Areena, continue on] • get to the “Jikeleza” “Glengarriff” signboard, turn right (T5) and immediately right again, (hairpin bend turn into the entrance -crossing the stop street) • our entrance is at the corner of the property on the right-hand side of the signboard. • brick and tile entrance set slightly back from Glengarriff turnoff corner • proceed down the hill, keep to the right at bottom of the hill through brick entrance wall • approach closely automatic opening gate.ENTER. • proceed down the road to boom • park on side of boom out of the way. • if you arrive after 5 pm, ring buzzer on the office door in order to book in, make a payment, etc.

From Mthatha/Durban • N2 from Mthatha to East London • take off-ramp no. 1060 "Brakfontein", "Wild Coast" “showgrounds” • at the top of the off-ramp turn left onto “R102.” • travel for +- 1km, turn left onto “Schaefli Road” “Jikeleza Route T1 (east Coast Resorts road) 9.6 km to Areena • follow directions as above from this point.
