ACCESS:
The gravel road off the R61 is 12kms and can take up to 1 hour depending on the potholes. This road is municipal and therefore the hotel is unable to intervene in the repair. This is a precaution as we are constantly asking for the road to be regularly graded to keep it in a good state for the hotel guests and the local community.
ADDITIONAL INFO:
All rooms at Umngazi have ceiling fans, no TV's or telephones. The cellphone reception is strongest in the reception areas. Umngazi has beach towels and umbrellas for hire. “Umngazi River Bungalows is a 5-star lodge and worth every star, if not more. The accommodation is excellent, large and spacious, either garden or sea/river facing. Each unit has a huge private outside shower with a view and a bathroom with quality amenities. The food is absolutely stunning and the variety at each meal is mind (stomach) blowing. What is best about this lodge is the friendly staff and the fact that the atmosphere it is so laid back. It truly is as they advertise it: " a bare foot place" , very relaxed and comfortable.
