The Pig and Whistle Hotel was originally known as the Bathurst Inn. The name was later changed after the air force men stationed at 43 Air School nicknamed it 'The Pig & Whistle' It is the oldest existing pub in South Africa, and the Hotel is one of the eight National Monument in the town. It offers great dining, has an antique shop, peaceful garden. (Jan-2014).
