The Pongola Dam is quickly becoming one of the most popular tiger fishing spots in Southern Africa. Day visitors are welcome and picnic facilities are available. There is also camping sites for longer stays. The lake is situated in the Pongola Nature Reserve and tourists can take beautiful game-viewing cruises with their boats.
