Booking

The 400ha reserve gets its name from the Silaka River which flows through and forms an estuary for visitors to bathe in. This is a small park managed by the Eastern Cape Park and Tourism Agency. The reserve is situated just 6km from Port St Johns with river running through the forest of the reserve, it experiences evergreen forest which makes it a thriving bird sanctuary, a haven for sighting of the Knysna Turaco, Cinnamon Dove, Half-Collared Kingfisher and Grey Cuckooshrike among other species. Directions

Follow the tar road from Port St Johns towards the beach and look out for the sign to Second Beach / Silaka that turns right. From there follow the signs to the reserve gate.
