Kwalata Game Lodge is located at the 20,000ha Dinokeng Big 5 Game Reserve in the northern corner of Gauteng, next to the N1 Highway. The Dinokeng Game Reserve accommodates all of the big five free-roaming and offers great plains game viewing. It is the perfect malaria-free stop-over, only 1/2 hour drive from Pretoria and 1-hour drive north of OR Tambo International Airport. Our Adventure Camp accommodates up to 300 school learners. In-house facilitators present School Leadership & Adventure programs. From Johannesburg 100km: use the N1 NORTH or R 26 towards Polokwane. Drive on the eastern bypass, N1 to Polokwane.N1 – Great North highway. Drive north on the N1 towards Polokwane. (Pietersburg).Pass through the Pumulani toll Plaza, Past the N1 Petrol port Off-ramp 183: Hammanskraal/ Boekenhoutskloof Take off-ramp to the left Turin right at T-junction towards Boekenhoutskloof Follow the tar road onto a gravel road towards the Dinokeng game reserve entrance gate. Welcome at the Ndlovu gate – Dinokeng game reserve Continue straight Kwalata – sign on your left turn left, follow the road and signs for approximately 3 km on the gravel road. Kwalata Lodge (Main Camp).

African Bushveld at its best. Experience our guided game drives, 2 hours or 3-hour drive within the Dinokeng Big 5 Game Reserve of 20 000 hectares, with Kwalata’s property which covers 2000 hectares within the reserve. Drinks and cooler boxes can be acquired at the bar before departure. We offer Evening Game Drives, with a stop-over at our bush lapa to enjoy some coffee & rusks around the fire where you can enjoy the night sounds under the stars. Drinks and cooler boxes can be acquired at the bar before departure. Picnic snacks can pre-ordered on any game drives booked. Breakfast & Lunch Stops along the route can be requested, in advance at the office. Experience the true beauty of the bushveld with our daily game drives, with qualified rangers. Our residents big 5 animals (lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard) are free-roaming, with other species like Hippo, Cheetah, Giraffe, Eland, Kudu, Impala, Zebra, Blue Wildebeest, Waterbuck, Red Hartebeest, Tsessebe, Warthog, Jackal, Crocodile, Ostrich, Aardwolf, Aardvark, Brown Hyena, Caracal, Serval, Porcupine and a variety of bird species. Enjoy a game drives only one hour from OR Tambo or 1/2 hour from Pretoria in Gauteng.
