Loskopdam in the Olifants River, is 48 km north of Middelburg on the road to Groblersdal (N11). It is a large resort with 280 sites, not well grassed and due to the natural slope, not very level either. The resort has a nice swimming pool and seven recently upgraded ablution blocks. Game viewing can be done from a boat as the Nature Reserve lies on the shores of the dam. There are hippo, giraffe, white rhino and numerous other game species to be seen Good freshwater fishing in the dam which has a capacity of 360 million cubic meters. The reserve falls under the management of Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency who can be contacted for more information. (Jun-16).
