Delmas is located on the western borders of Mpumalanga, the local people also call the small town 'Botleng' which means Beautiful. Delmas is an important agricultural and milling centre. In 1907 it was laid out as a small town on the small farm, Witklip. The name Delmas means small farm in French. Frank Dumat a Transvaal Government official had the honour in naming the town, his grandfather was French. Delmas is surrounded by farmland.
