Situated within the Bojanala region, 16km from Koster within the North West. The town was named after named after Lord Derby, British secretary of State, and had its origins as a settlement for destitute people. The Derby military cemetery which carries history of the soldiers who did there during the Anglo-Boer war of 1899-1902. (Updated Dec-12).
