Groblersdal is situated within the Mpumalanga province of South Africa, first established on the farm "Klipbank" originally owned by WJ Grobler, after whom the town was named. Situated North of the Loskop dam, the town straddles the borders of Limpopo and Mpumalanga. The town is well known for large scale irrigation farming of crops such as cotton, maize, wheat, peanuts, citrus fruits and grapes. The term "Cultural Heartland" is often used to describe this town because of the colourful Ndebele culture that dominates this part of Mpumalanga.
