Thabazimbi is situated at the feet of Ysterberg in the Limpopo province of South Africa, surrounding it is the Witfonteinrand and Boshofberg with the Kransberg as the background. The main economical industry in Thabazimbi is Iron ore mining. Nearby the town you will find the Marakele National Park which is about 20 km north-east of the town. the town made headlines in 2003 post-apartheid era as the location of Kamp Staaldraad, this was the training camp of the Springboks prior to the Rugby World Cup.
