Klaserie is a small town situated in the Limpopo province, on the R40, south of Hoedspruit. The Town's main tourist attraction is the Klaserie Nature Reserve. It is a privately owned nature reserve with a bushveld atmosphere, and forms part of the Great Kruger National Park. Klaserie acts as a base for exploring the Klaserie Nature Reserve and Kruger National Park.

“The river where the Swazis were defeated during the battle of Moholoholo was initially named ‘Motlasedi’, meaning ‘where the battle occurred’. The town that developd there is now called Klaserie, a bastardised version of the word Motlasedi in Afrikaans.” - Chris Smit, 2024/06/08
