“In 1878 Tom MacLaclan and a partner left the Mac-Mac diggings and moved into the northern part of Swaziland.
In 1882 they received permission from Mbandeni, the Swazi King to prospect the area north of the Komati River.
They found traces of gold and took in a third partner, William Pigg to assist them. In 1885 he found payable gold on a peak which was named after him.
Mining operations were started and the little mining town that grew there became known as Pigss Peak” -
