Siteki is a Swahili name which means 'Marrying place. ' The city is well known as the trading and administrative centre, situated within the Lubombo province of Swaziland. The city was formerly called 'stegi.' This is a beautiful place set on a hill of approximately 1000m above sea level. The main project to boost the city was the construction of a large multi purpose market for use by various entrepreneurs and businesses. Visitors can stay in hotels, lodge, chalets or choose camping. A tour of the craft market with various local traditional arts and crafts will ensure an unforgettable visit. There is a historic Mabuda Farm in Siteki where beef, maize and dairy are produced. There is also accommodation for the guests at the farm. For more information visitors are welcome to contact the Siteki Town Council. (Mar-14).
