BORDER CONTROL:
Travellers have reported that they have never been asked about meat or fresh produce going into Lesotho but they have been fairly strict on bringing alcohol into the country. (2017).
ROAD INFO:
For the route between Semonkong en-route to Khatse dam you will need a 4X4 as this is a very difficult road.
There is a good tar road north of Khatse.
The shortcut between Malealea to Semonkong is only for 4x4.
The gravel roads in Lesotho are in a fair condition.
WEATHER:
Snow is expected in June, this will make the routes in Lesotho very difficult.
Lesotho is a summer rainfall area.
Please do remember that when travelling in Lesotho, you must come to a complete stop with your vehicle at any Stop Signs you encounter, despite Police Officers encouraging you to drive towards them, you must first stop at the Stop Sign and then you may continue towards the awaiting Police Officer.
