Burundi is situated between Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Tanzania Africa's giants. This is a small nation with rising mountains and relaxed lakeside communities. The scenery is spectacular and as the word got out the war is over it is beginning to receive a few travellers. The capital is Bujumbura. This is a great location on the shores of Lake Tanganyika, it has some of the finest inland beaches on the continent. Most of the attractions inland have been off limits for years, but the scenery and welcoming Burundians compensates for it. Some attractions in Burundi are the source of the Nile, the ancient forest of Parc National de la Kibira and the Chute de Karera. There is still a safety risk in Burundi so before you go make sure of the safety tips. You will need a visa to enter Burundi. The currency used in Burundi is Burundi Franc (BIF).
