Island Domwe Island

Domwe Island is situated in Lake Malawi National Park, at the southern end of Lake Malawi, just off the coast of Cape Maclear. It is separated from the main land by a narrow gap, called the Ilala Gap, which in a dry season may connect the island to the main land. The island has a circumference of 11km and is the largest unpopulated island in Lake Malawi, well stocked with small mammals which have crossed onto the island during these dry times.
