Karringmelkspruit, which is on the railway line. Going towards Barkly East the railway line goes through the Kraai river gorge, it is said, that here you will find the highest railway reverses in the country. The contours show a total drop of about 140m from the top of the gorge to the railway bridge which goes over the river.

It has been said that the children used the train to get to school from New England Station to school and back. When the children return to their homes the trail would fill with water at the bottom of Karringmelkspruit, then the children would get out of the train and walk up the hill and through the tunnel and then meet the train on top of the hill, get back on and continue their journey home.
