XonXa Dam in the Wit-Kei River/Great Kei River Eastern Province of South Africa, has a capacity of 115.9 million cubic metres It was built in 1974 and has a 49 metres high dam wall The rather turbid irrigation dam is being utilized for the establishment of a fisheries project. Smallmouth yellowfish and sharptooth catfish are being placed in the dam. Concern over water shortages in Queenstown has led to a plan to augment the Waterdown Dam water supply to the town by building a pipeline from Xonxa Dam.
