Bridle Drift Dam in the Buffalo River, E Cape Province of South Africa has a capacity of 101.6 million cubic metres. It was built about 20 km east of East London in 1969 and has a wall length of 513 m, a height of 55 m. and a surface area of 746 ha. Bridle Drift Dam is the major supplier of water to Buffalo City (The municipalities of East London, King Williamstown and Bisho) There are Facilities for boating, yachting, wind-surfing, and angling at the dam.
