Wagendrift Dam's name is derived from a drift stretching through the Bushmans River, that was used by transport wagons on their way from Port Natal to the goldfields of the Witwatersrand. The quiet resort is a 980ha protected area which incorporates Moor Park reserve and surrounds Wagendrift dam. Accommodation is either at the two caravan/camping sites (27 camping sites and 12 dual-use sites each), the Youth Centre with its four 18-bed dormitories, or the four-bedded, fully-equipped cottage overlooking the water.
