The Montagu Mountain Nature reserve stretches over 2000 hectares of unspoilt vegetation, ravines, cliffs and waterfalls. A great hiking and bird watching destination. The visitors to the reserve need to have permit to enter the reserve obtained at at either entry of the reserve at Joubertpark and the hot springs. Overnight cabins are Klipspringer is available for up to 12 hikers. However camping is not allowed anywhere in the reserve.

From Montagu town left into Barry Street, then left into Meul Street/Mill Street, then right into Tanner Street. Drive past the river twice and then there will be the nature reserve.
