The Cogmanskloof Hiking Trail is situated within the Montagu Mountain Reserve and is a 12.1 km circular hike that takes approximately 4 to 6 hours to complete. The start of the trail is at Ou Meul. The trail is short and is not high can be guided or unguided. This trail can be combined with the Bloupunt trail to form a 2 day trail with overnight accommodation at Klipspringer hut. Hikers are advised to carry their own drinking water as there is no water on this route. The route have beautiful views, rock formations, fynbos and indigenous flowers. The trail is managed by the Langebaan Municipality and Advisory board. A permit is required to enter the reserve and hike the trail. This is obtained at entry of the reserve at Joubertpark and the hot springs. For more information the visitors need to contact the Montagu - Ashton Tourism Information Bureau.
