Hiking Die Hel Hike

Die Hel Hike is within the Groot Winterhoek Wilderness area The hiking trail is demanding and for the adventurers and physically fit approximately 9,5km. Basically there is no defined route, have to follow a river and sometimes walk on through the water and along the edge of a ravine. This route stretches from Die Hel to De Hoek and never the other way round. The path takes the hikers through the Die Hell pool, a spectacular scenery with rock cliffs and waterfall, the biggest rock pool in Western Cape. Visitors need to have permits for R60 adults in order to enter the Groot Winterhoek wilderness area obtained from cape nature and hikers also need permission from the Die Hoek landowners as it is a private property. This route is often closed during harvest season between December - April. .
